Camillians came to Tanzania from the Netherlands in 1959 and started working in Morogoro diocese at Lugoba and Ngerengere. While at Ngerengere, they built a dispensary to take care of the sick as they carried the parish works. Later on, they moved to Dar es Salaam to work at Muhimbili National Hospital as chaplains, and started a parish at Yombo Kiwalani where they also built a dispensary and maternity ward to carry on with the charism of serving the sick. At present, the Camillians are in the diocese of Dar es Salaam at St. Camillus Yombo Kiwalani parish, St. Charles Lwanga Yombo Dovya parish, St. John of God Yombo Vituka parish and Mary health of the sick Muhimbili parish. They are also in Morogoro diocese at Mikese parish.
